The main thing is to ensure that the user gets a seemless rendering on his small screen as good as Desktop or Laptop.
I have worked on couple of projects to Deliver content on iPad and Android.
It is easy to build iPad apps ensuring that your regular page content built is not cluttered, but with small size images to fit that 7 inch screen.
For Android there are screen sizes varying from 2.8" to 3.4". You might have to have 3 different sizes of images to show thumbnails etc. 8 x 8 , 18 x 18, 32 x 32 pixels
